The Belgian Quo Band (BQB) was formed in the summer of 2007, inspired by a Status Quo performance. Frank Vandaele and his son Erwin started a tribute band together. After in<\/p>\r\n

tensive rehearsals and the addition of new musicians, such as bassist Lieven, BQB performed their first shows.<\/p>\r\n

In the early years, the focus was on playing Status Quo songs, but from 2010 onwards, the band evolved into a full tribute experience, complete with a typical stage setup and visual effects. In 2011, BQB really started to stand out with the release of their first DVD and several performances at events.<\/p>\r\n

\"\"The first lineup change occurred, and from then on, Wesley Jaques took over the drums.<\/p>\r\n

The band expanded their reach to the Netherlands and Germany, gaining increasing media attention. 2014 became an absolute highlight! During the Gentse Feesten, the band attempted a world record by having as many people as possible play air guitar at the same time.<\/p>\r\n

In the same year, when Status Quo had to cancel several shows due to Rick Parfitt\u2019s illness, the Belgian Quo Band was even asked to perform as their replacement in Germany!<\/p>\r\n

In the following years, the band continued to grow, with highlights including a true “Rock Till You Drop” event: 4 performances within 12 hours, at 4 different locations across Flanders.<\/p>\r\n

The band traveled in style with a real tour bus, a limousine, and even a helicopter to pull off this remarkable feat.<\/p>\r\n

At the end of 2016, they were invited to perform in Mali. During a European military mission, the band was the surprise act on New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\r\n

In 2018, the band took a break, but in 2019, with two new members, Rik Michels and Geert Callens, they resumed their activities.<\/p>\r\n

In recent years, the band\u2019s excellent live reputation has grown, and they have performed at numerous national and international festivals.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In 2022, BQB celebrated their 15th anniversary, and by then, the sky was truly the limit. During a performance at the Status Quo fan meeting in England, the band was unexpectedly joined by Leon Cave, the real drummer of Status Quo, as a guest musician. To this day, the band regularly performs with both Status Quo\u2019s drummer Leon Cave and guitarist Richie Malone as special guests!<\/p>\r\n

The band has now played in over 12 different countries and has performed at festivals such as Alcatraz and Graspop.<\/p>\r\n

The band is officially recognized by Status Quo, with a link to their website.<\/p>\r\n

Belgian Quo Band remains an energetic, well-oiled machine that always creates a festive atmosphere for their many fans, the Quo Family.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
